Zion Helps Magic Happen Zion brings out the very best in us. Whether you visit with your kids, your partner, your company, or your college friends, odds are you will never forget your shared experience here. Just walking outside your tent or hotel room each day, you feel so lucky to be here, surrounded by such grandeur. This picture was taken after 12 hours of canyoneering on the most difficult trip we offer. These guys were still glowing, thrilled to be with each other, making lifelong memories in Zion.
Canyoneering for Everyone Everyone can have fun canyoneering. Cayons are natural desert playgrounds, offering eye-widening obstacles like cliffs, boulders, swimming holes, and even quicksand that make our descents creative and exciting. We have been helping families explore canyoneering for over a decade, with daily trips designed to build indelible memories for you. Family Adventure Days are our most popular summer canyoneering event, offered in half-day and full-day flavors to work with your itinerary. Kids age 5 to 92 have joined us, and so can you.
Climbing is Good For You Why do people like to climb? The answer is truly experiential. Standing on just your toes, far from the ground below, life becomes completely in the moment. Climbing asks us to be physically, mentally, and emotionally present, to make simple decisions that feel dramatic and consequential. And yet, as we learn to work with our fears and our innate faculties of balance and movement, we can gain a tremendous sense of accomplishment and freedom. Truly, if you can walk, you can climb... let us show you how.
High Adventure - Literally When was the last time you hung from a rope 150' off the the ground? We can help you say, "Yesterday." Each year, ZAC guides help over 2500 complete beginners learn the ropes of canyoneering and rappeling with confidence and style. We conduct all our trips on-site, in the canyons you came to see, learning skills as we journey through circuitous hallways of rock, water, and sand. Whether your group is adrenaline-thirsty or timid-but-curious, we excel at choosing venues with the right mix of fun, challenge, and learning for everyone.
Treat Yourself to a River Trip Nothing beats the summer heat in Zion like tubing down the Virgin River. During the hot summer months each year, we help thousands of people enjoy the cool water, ample shade, and lovely breezes along our favorite local waterway. Tubing is the ultimate in freedom and simplicity: After a short orientation at our store, you pick out your tube, enjoy a two-mile run down a narrow, bumpy, tree-lined river. At the end, we pick you up at Springdale's River Park... and if it feels good, you can do it again! What could be easier?
Explore by 4x4 Unimog rides are simply too much fun. A far cry from highway driving, you get to see the off-road nooks and crannies surrounding Zion from the heightened, open-air perspective of our vintage 1974 Unimog. Our Overland tours by Unimog take you on a historic, geologic, and scenic tour of the Zion area while you enjoy 270-degree views and the wind blowing through your hair. If you're looking for an adventure that is a little more sedentary but still full of surprises, join us for an evening 4x4 journey.
Multi-Day Lake Adventures Our brand new Lake Powell Ventures delve into the vast and sinuous canyons of America's most infamous reservoir to explore remote, untouched canyons. Since the canyons can only be accessed via the lake, we use motorboats, kayaks, and a fair bit of swimming to get around, making canyoneering here a truly amphibious experience. Lake Powell events are all multi-day camping trips, made somwhat luxurious by isolated beach camps, exquisite starry nights, and houseboat amenities. Be one of the first to experience Lake Powell with us!
Trail, Slickrock, & Road Biking Whether you like smooth pavement, whoop-de-doo single track, or technical slickrock rides, the Zion area has something to make you smile while you pedal. World-class slickrock bike riding at Goosebery Mesa (pictured) or Little Creek offers awesome opportunities for beginning to serious riders, while sweet single-track rides in the Virgin and Hurricane Valleys appeal to the less-vertically inclined. For road cyclists, Zion Canyon and the Kolob Terrace Road are unparalleled for truly stunning views and very nice riding conditions.
Hike The Zion Narrows Acclaimed by such experts as Outside, Backpacker, and National Geographic Adventure magazines as one of North America's best hikes, The Narrows is probably Zion's most famous destination. Where else on Earth can you hike in a 1500-foot gorge, between walls that squeeze down to forty feet wide? The Narrows is a hike for almost any group, from families with young children to adreneline-filled athletes to folks looking for a peaceful saunter in wild nature. Our job is to provide you with equipment and information to enjoy this amazing hike.

Plan Ahead to Avoid Roadwork Delays

Reconstruction of the Zion-Mt Carmel Highway will begin June 1, 2010 and end October 28. The construction will occur from the junction of the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive to the East Entrance, a distance of 9.5 miles, including The Switchbacks. Delays and closures will occur Monday through Thursday, with Friday through Sunday open for regular traffic. The construction will not impact Zion Canyon, the most visited area of the park.
